Prof Bice Martincigh

Bice Martincigh is a physical chemist in the School of Chemistry and Physics. Her research expertise lies in the areas of photochemistry, solution thermodynamics and environmental chemistry. She is a well-versed academic and has held Visiting Professorships at West Virginia University, the University of Wales in Cardiff, Portland State University and GITAM University. 

In 2011 she was awarded the University’s Distinguished Teacher Award. She has served as the President of the South African Chemical Institute (SACI). She is a Fellow of SACI, the Royal Society of Chemistry and IUPAC. She has been elected as a member of the Academy of Science of South Af
